Role summary:
I also lead and project managed customer development projects, bringing direct revenue streams into the IT operation. Projects ranged from web booking platforms and reporting tools, to call centre solutions, logistics hub screening and triage (DOA/ELF) and other business applications. Customers were, for example, Kuehne+Nagel, T-Mobile, Sony Ericsson, LG, Motorola...
Responsible for the overall IT organisation and Enterprise Architecture, I developed the IT strategy according to the critical requirements of the Business. I directed and oversaw all IT resource planning, budgeting and operational initiatives, including ERP/WMS, web platforms, partner system interfaces and infrastructure (network, servers, security, datacenter operations).
During that time I also took part in the infrastructure overhaul, redesigning networks and systems to improve efficiency and facilitate communication within the business. I managed the implementation of the group's Intranet and its email solution platform, as well as several security systems. I also supervised and managed the creation of the first e-commerce website for the company.
Working at the French head office of this electronics company, I was in charge of the marketing and communication department. I supervised the creation of marketing material, including the company's logo and design & brand guidelines. I was also in charge of preparing tender documents for major clients, including mobile phone carriers and handset vendors (e.g. Orange, Motorola, Siemens, Bouygues Telecom, SFR).
After graduating from University, I was hired to establish the UK subsidiary for a French electronic service and repair company. I was part of the team that put the business plan together, then went on to select the premises, organise the start-up business operations and hire the first employees. Everything had to be done, which was both exciting and challenging. Production started in January 1997 after 6 months of intense preparation. After just 2 years, the new business was already employing 45 members of staff and growing very fast. It now employs in excess of 1,000 people with several branches and factories located in UK, Ireland and Canada.
