I am back !
18 oct. 2016

This university year was rather difficult :(

If you don’t know I decided to take one more year at school, but it was not that simply is that : at the same time I was studying at school and I was an intern in the company . Four days a week I was a worker and one day a week I was a student. Having a job is really good because you have money in the end of the month, you see different people, you talk with them, you don’t need to mail every company in Paris to find a job… But being the student at the same time is difficult because you have a lot of projects with your classmates.

However it doesn’t matter anymore. In July I finished my studies . And after one month holidays I am ready ( truly not at all ) to start my job researches.

As my dream is to work with English, I decided to take classes for 2 months to improve it. I hope that after that my level would be higher.

The training will start 12 September. Actually I motivate myself to search a job, but summer weather doesn’t help at all.

Nevertheless I added some details to my resume which you can find here : http://www.doyoubuzz.com/maria-mishukova#

All remarks are welcomed :)

Lyon
15 juin 2015

I have no idea why but in Bordeaux we had eaten better than in Lyon. More I live in France more attention I pay to my plate :) Also we visited several interesting things which I advise to do if you go to Lyon one day.

So we found our hotel which was near the rail way station called Perrache and went to the center of the city. We walked straight ahead looking shop windows and admiring the weather.

We decided to take a pause near magnificent theater and test brioche with praline.

After that we continued to discover Lyon, we found ourselves in the quarter called Presqu’île.

The next day we wake up in 6 a.m. to visit all Lyon a day. I’m jocking. It was really hard to wake up, but we did it. We did it just before lunch. Empty stomach is a really good motivator to leave the bed. So we tested the regional cuisine. I think it’s better to test cuisine of Lyon in autumn or winter because there are a lot of meat, so the plates are heavy. And when it is +30 C it’s hard to eat such dishes. Nevertheless I ate one dish with green salad and it was really good.

After a good meal we took underground and arrived at the quarter named Croix-Rousse which is situated on the hill. There is a wonderful view to the city. Don’t forget your cameras :) In this quarter you can see the wall of one house totally painted.

This magnificent art is called Mur des canuts.

Later we discovered Lyon from the boat. It was a nice boat trip of one hour .

One of the banks was decorated with the traditional African masks.

I am not a big fan of museums, that’s why we visit them rarely, but this museum is a must seen: the museum of the cinema and miniatures. There, you can see a film exhibition, one-of-its-kind in Europe, that focuses on special effects techniques. Featuring over 300 original film props and artefacts, this educational display uncovers the magic behind the greatest film studios (c). I advise you to take time and admire this marvelous exposition.

The next stop was the visit of Old Lyon with its famous passages (in French Traboules).

After a good beer we took together all out forces and climbed the hill to visit the basilica Fourvière. There is the best view of the city.

The last day we didn’t have a lot of time but we took a pause in the park Tête d’Or. It’s an enormous park with a lot of green place to take a picnik, many trees to be in the shadow when it is hot, for the lovers of flowers there is a rosarium.

Bordeaux
15 juin 2015

If we compare Amsterdam and Bordeaux it’s like North and South.

The weather was hot, the sun was shining and my nose was really red and my shoulders too. My skin is white so during the summer I can’t be covered with tan. The color change from white to red. After that it is very dry and it begins to come off. What’s a pity ! So in July I hope to visit Scandinavian countries :D

It doesn’t matter what color is my skin, I liked Bordeaux and Lyon (about Lyon in future article).

Our travel began the morning of the 8th of May on the railway station Montparnasse and continued 4 days. During these 4 days we ate perfect meals. I can’t imagine that in the south the French accords so much attention to the food. Nevertheless I understand this culture.

We ate in different restaurants but every time the meal was delicious. So if you are in Bordeaux you can try burgers at Funky Burger or breakfast at Chez Karl or brunch at Belle Campagne. Also we ate marvelous sushi at Un soir à Shibuya.

This picture I took at that perfect sushi bar. Totoro ☺

We did another things at Bordeaux like sightseeing, walking along the river, looking for the shade.

One of the place where we returned several times was Place des Quinconces. The fountain is really impressive.

It is called Miroir d’eau. In the center of the city near the river you can find this magnificent oasis which is appreciated a lot by the kids.

Amsterdam / Bordeaux / Lyon

Amsterdam / Bordeaux / Lyon

Amsterdam

Like my bf is away for a business trip I have a free evening to write about my last three journeys☺

All three were rather small — 3 or 4 days in the city, but very intense. We didn’t loose the time and tried to visit different coins of each town.

In the morning of 28 April we took a train from Paris and went to Amsterdam. It took about 3 hours to go there. Our coach was plenty of other French tourists and the Dutchmen who were returning to themselves. We traversed the Belgium, it would be nice if the stop was longer and we got a chance to buy a real Belgium chocolate that is delicious nevertheless you can find this wonderful dessert not only in Belgium. The Belgium chocolate can be easily found in Amsterdam also , what we did.

It’s strange that there are a lot of shops in Amsterdam where you can’t pay by Mastercard or Visa. When you will travel in Holland have spare cash.

Also we took a chance to eat Edam, famous Holland cheese. It was mmmmm…. so we took 3 pieces with us to continue admiring these wonderful cheese.

Amsterdam is the city of channels. That’s why not to take a boat tour is a crime. So we escaped from the rain into the small boat to see the most remarkable buildings and boats along channels. These houses were full of history and stories of people who lived there, like house of Anne Franck.

The next obligatory stop was Museum of Van Gogh. Full of admiration we visited three floors with the pictures of genius from the beginning of his creative carer till the end.

No matter that in each shop there was a spring/summer collection; the weather was cold, rainy, gloomy. So we had to look for a coat for me, but it was a mission impossible, because or it was expensive or there wasn’t my size. So we found hoodies that fitted me only in the touristic store.

The sun was shining but just several hours. So we could take nice photos of Amsterdam. But the visit of flower field was postponed for future visit.

… actually you are a real tough cookie (c)

Hello dudes !

Finally, I found a really brilliant series. I saw the first season non-stop: 6 episodes of 47 minutes. The second season is in stock and the third season will come out this summer.

This series is like you are speaking with your friend. You are not in front of your computer, you are in. You are near Rae, the principal character. I really wanted to support her very much, because I understand her in many situations. There are a gang of three boys who laugh at her. There are problems with the clothes fitting: dresses, under-wear, swimsuit… There are moments when you hate yourself and you have a strong desire to hurt yourself. There are moments that you don’t worth people who are with you.

I like all characters: Rae, I like a lot her psychologist Dr Kester Gill, her mother, gang, haters… Everyone is interesting. All relations are intriguing.

Few quotes and ideas:

Only boys can tell jokes.

You want to look girly wear a dress!

Why don’t you like yourself? Be honest with yourself to answer this question.

You should stop rejecting yourself.

We make our lives complicated.

I never never leave you.

Generation Y in office; part 2
12 avr. 2015

Love your work and you won’t work a day in your life.

What is the best in work? After work beer or cocktail of course… You prefer red wine? Rosé? One rosé please☺ It’s really cool to discuss the last project with your manager in the bar near your office. One more nice thing is lunch break. Eating together with your colleges everyday is a real tool to create friendly atmosphere at work.

Take work and personal stuff, put them into a blender and push the button. After two minutes, the perfect cocktail “the perfect Y’s life” will be ready. The previous generations were talking about the balance between work and personal life. Generation Y doesn’t talk about balance, they talk about blend or tetris. The Ys arrange their work and personal life. Both of them are important.

What can motivate you to work? Yeap, it’s refilling your bank account, but not only. Ys want to show the results of their work. They want to be recognized. Feedback makes you love your work more than ever. It’s fuel for Ys.

Are you pro or contro open space? If you prefer to work in your personal office, you are not Y LOL Because Ys don’t like isolation. They prefer working in team. Together is power. It’s more comfortable to speak with your partners, asking and answering the questions, suggesting ideas and discussing them.

Save trees use Ipad☺ It’s about digital communication. The Ys don’t want to lose their time near the printer waiting for the last page of the endless report. Or, worst, spending so much time at the copier. Why they should do copies? If you can send the scanned copy via email, this would be faster, greener and much easier, than spending hours near the printer.

As the Ys are curious, they like to discover. So if you introduce the system of different trainings you will make the Ys happy and loyal. What the Ys are looking for at their jobs? Right learn more.

Not all of the Ys are dreaming to become directors. A lot of them want to move horizontally, to try new things. They are seeking for new opportunities. Maybe the job of your dreams is right here, near you.

Nobody likes meetings. Because it’s wasting of time, energy, motivation, concentration and so long. So if the manager wants to keep your attention, he should reduce the length of the meeting and make it more interesting. Maybe he should add an informal element: recently I have read an article of an IT engineer. In the company where he works there is a tradition in the weekly meeting when somebody is speaking he is keeping in the hands a toy pig.

Ys are sure that hard projects with over time should be mixed with calm time, when you can think about done work, realize the aims obtained. The Ys don’t want to burn out at work. The hard working non-stop will destroy the blend between work and personal life.

What is the best in work? Have fun ☺

How do I get addicted to Generation Y?
31 mars 2015

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

Seriously it was the previous year during my internship, which sucked. And I was really exhausted. I had no specific idea for my final paper. So I told to my tutor, that I am fond of recruitment and I would like to write about it. As reply to my demand, he proposed to try Recruitment of generation Y . I read a few articles and liked them much. So the month of august I was very busy to create my own vision of generation Y and write more than 50 pages about it. Luckily my friend helped me a lot. It was my first French paper that was so long and very interesting ☺

The only minus in my work was the lack of critical point of Gen’ Y. At this moment I can’t criticize the Y. Why? Because I am Y and I don’t want to criticize myself. Secondly I like generation Y. We are curious, positive, different…

In my paper I was speaking about a lot of things like what the generation Y is in general and in particular, at work and out, how the poor managers can govern them, and of course how you can attract them, what they are waiting for, and the favorite theme of every HR : motivation.

If you want learn more and you can read it in French here:

Generation Y in the office. part 1
24 mars 2015

Work is an activity not a place (c)

If the generation Y is so special, they are special at workplace: their working habits, needs, schedule, relation to work and workplace.

Do you prefer to start earlier to finish earlier or are you great in bed — you can sleep for days — begin around 11 a.m. and finish in the time of evening news? (there are at 9 p.m. aren’t they?) Do you want to switch? I bet you don’t. These is one of the wishes of Ys: work at the convenient hours for them not for their boss. If they are more productive at 5 p.m. why not letting them work in these particular hours?

Coffee pause. You know these 15 minutes when you pretend to drink coffee and discuss the latest rumors about Jane from an account department that you even don’t know. Say no rumors about Jane, say yes rumors about Apple at Linked In, photos with the meal of your friend who is traveling in Australia on Facebook or a new twitt from your Mum. The Ys prefer to verify their social networks with a bottle of juice or coca light.

Wish I was at home… from time to time a lot of Ys prefer to work at their home. Why not? It’s a brilliant idea on how to make them loyal. Because work is the activity and not a place. So, you can work from your desk in the noisy office, when it’s really hard to concentrate, or you can work at home with a cup of your favorite tea. However there is an exclusion. I am speaking about freelancers. Often these guys prefer to work out of their houses to change the atmosphere. So you can watch them at starbucks with a huge cappuccino typing something on their laptops.

There are place for twitter, facebook, google+ hangouts, linked In (and other social networks) at work. Say yes to digital communication. Why you have to type in the telephone number and disturb your colleges if instead of this you can make two clicks and write a message. It will arrange everybody. Don’t panic, every Y check his accounts often so you will have an answer very soon.

Bow-tie or neck-tie? Yes I’m joking, I’m sure that your answer will be “Bow ties are cool” . And if you have no idea what I am talking about, I think you choose T-shirt — jeans if you are Y, and classic shirt (no bright colors) — black trousers if you are a little bit older. The Ys prefer the comfort in clothes. Except there are strong dress codes: for example, the auditors must wear the costume, because they are very serious people. Or maybe this is a tradition.

How do you concentrate? The Ys prefer the music. It could be classic (Vivaldi gives the best fit) or electro (sorry no example) or pop. It depends only on you, which music can give just the background and nothing else.

The Ys like make their workplace cozy and warm: a funny mug, a packet of crisps, photos from last Friday’s night, stickers everywhere ☺

Love your work and you won’t work a day in your life. The Ys don’t see the meaning of doing a work that they don’t like.

More interesting and informative stuff soon :D

Managing Generation Y
11 mars 2015

Every generation has its way

A need to disobey

©

As always being in the research of a job, I’m trying to improve my English. Today, I decided to read some articles about management of the generation Y. And after, speak with you about this phenomen.

Generation Y is the people who was born between late 80s and 90s.

I have already written a paper about the recruitment of this generation. And I’m still interested in it ☺

Yeap the generation Y has some disadvantages. They don’t think about others, they were grew up with parents and grandparents who adore them, so the Ys don’t know how to be in need, they are sure that they will have a brilliant future with interesting well paid job, warm-hearted manager, amazing colleagues…

I would like to mention two varieties between the Ys and previous generations at work.

The first interesting idea concludes in the problem that the Ys at the workplace don’t know the standards to write formal texts. They are in habit of blogging, sms, twitts, messages on facebook, all these facilities of communication demand to be short without introduction and conclusion, just the most important. And they used to reduce all unnecessary details.

Secondly, the generation X and baby boomers have the lack of connections with social networks like twitter, facebook and the comprehension that now theses sites are also instruments to look for a job or to maintain your relation with your colleagues of previous jobs. There are the professionals who have two accounts on facebook and twitter, one for personal use, another for professional. I think for elderly people facebook and twitter remained in the entertainment. In my opinion, the good manager should encourage the development of the knowledges of social networks and how can we benefit it.

So how to manage this generation? Make the best of Ys loyal to your company?

I think to manage them with success is not so difficult, because they are still children. So the work, for them, is not the punishment, but it’s a joy. It’s the happiness to discover new activities, to develop their skills, to learn more about the world around us ☺

That’s why we are going to discuss the instruments to make this possible.

I speak about instruments in the order they appeared in my head, not at all in the order of importance or something like it.

I will start with the people we are working with. Colleagues are the team and friends in the same time. One of the important things at workplace is the atmosphere. Team building is highly welcomed, moreover obligatory.

And the most important one at workplace is the boss. The Ys need to have a boss - a coach, a mentor. As the work for the Ys is the place where they can learn more, make their skills and competence wider and deeper. So they need a person who will direct them, explain and clarify.

Proceed with relations with the chief , there are managers who are afraid to lose control while approving the results of the team. However the Ys need to be recognized via feedback. Every task done must be analyzed and returned with remarks or reward. And in many cases, Idon’t speak about money but simply a “Well done”.

But what about missions? The task must be interesting, various. The bore kills all productivity of the young. They prefer the difficulties, the challenges to boredom. Changes in the each day work are welcomed.

The work to do has to worth the time, efforts, skills that will be used to accomplish it. The Ys like understand why they do this, what for?

Moreover they are multi task. It’s hard to concentrate on one thing, so multiple tasks are appreciated. It’s more interesting to mix, juggle with them.

However the salary plays an important role also. The Ys want to be paid according to work done. In the childhood they have learnt that the most important is the participation, efforts, knowledges involved. So at the workplace they hold to these statements.

Or if you prefer to judge the results: you can explain to Y what you are waiting for from him and give the complete freedom to do the work. If the Y will be interested he/she will work 24 hour a day and week-ends.

Good job is to apply the diversification when you react with different ages and not to use the same instruments with baby boomers and Ys.

Private briefing with each member of team is useful and convenient.

Nevertheless the Ys…

These were just a little part of my thoughts about generation Y. So I’m sure that i will write one/two/three or more articles about the Ys.

See u soon ;)

Birdman
26 févr. 2015

Birdman was different and strange. You think: who is crazy you or the character? You are looking for the answer the whole film… Nope there was no answer.

Music was cool in the beginning of the film but later it was like switch off this fucking drums, we understood the importance of the moment!

Edward Norton is very sexy. How old is he? He takes care of his body.

I don’t understand why this film took Oscar? Okay this film is different, with drums, interesting angles of filming, good acting. But i can’t name Birdman the best film of the year. It’s ordinary drama of an actor who run off control, who lost his fame. I can’t say that this film will rest in memory.
