About Me
Dr. Mike Feinberg is President and Co-Founder of Texas School Venture Fund (TXSVF) and Career For All, organizations dedicated to increasing the supply and diversity of quality schools in communities seeking more educational options. Career For All has incubated several schools and organizations, including Eastex Jensen Neighborhood School, Westchase Neighborhood School, WorkTexas adult trade school, and various other educational initiatives.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, Mike joined Teach For America, teaching bilingual fifth grade in Houston, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Education from National-Louis University. Mike has received honorary doctorates from Yale University and Duke University, as well as the National Community Service Award from Spelman College.
In 2004, Dr. Feinberg was named an Ashoka Fellow for his innovative work in education. He has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CBS 60 Minutes, and in the book "Work hard. Be nice." by Washington Post reporter Jay Mathews. In 2005, he led the rapid establishment of NOW College Prep, a school for Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Houston.

- Launched and lead TXSVF and Career For All with a mission to expand quality educational options and career opportunities in underserved communities.
- Incubated and supported multiple innovative educational programs, including Eastex Jensen Neighborhood School, Westchase Neighborhood School, WorkTexas adult trade school, and Project Remix Ventures at Harris County Juvenile Probation Department.
- Established the Shawn M. Hurwitz Fellowship to support the development of future leaders in education.

- Co-founded KIPP, a national network of over 270 public charter schools serving underserved communities and preparing students for college and beyond.
- Spearheaded the creation of KIPP Academy Houston in 1994 and the KIPP Foundation in 2000 to scale KIPP's impact nationwide.
- Led organizational growth to reach over 100,000 students, fostering a strong college-preparatory culture and curriculum.
- Instrumental in developing partnerships and securing funding to expand the KIPP network across multiple states, serving as a model for educational reform in the U.S.
