IT is my passion and excelling at it is my ambition. 10+ years of experience and a proven track record of accomplishments, compounded with a strong and constantly improving technical expertise, make me a competitive candidate for a growth position at a company.
I firmly believe that the word "impossible" should not be in any IT professional's vocabulary. Finding modern solutions to business challenges peeks my interest, keeps me engaged, and fuels my creativity.
"The only constant is change" is an idiom I firmly believe in. This is especially true in modern web technologies. Ongoing research and analysis of frameworks, patterns, and best practices are an absolute must. Without this, skills, decision making abilities, and relevancy will deteriorate rapidly.
In both of my development and leadership styles, staying agile and responsive are of utmost importance. I prefer iterative development cycles which allow me to focus on ensuring the product is of the highest quality and continuously improving on what is already existing.
Knowledgable in ASCAP's business model throughout 10+ years of technology implementations.
5+ years of leadership experience. Currently a Senior Application Architect on an Enterprise Architecture team of five individuals.
Responsible for re-architecting a system to increase performance by more than 5000%. This system ingests works (songs), and their revisions, into ASCAP and is now a golden example of ASCAP's modernization effort and desire to keep one step ahead of the competition.
Designed and led the implementation effort of an enterprise wide authentication/authorization API that leverages AWS Cognito and runs on API Gateway and Lambda. In addition to upgrading to a more modern and cloud based identity provider, this effort also saves ASCAP approximately 1 million dollars a year.
Worked with technical managers to assemble a roadmap that lays out the path to break ASCAP's aging, under-performant, and difficult to maintain monolith. This work included a deep understanding of over 1.5 million lines of code, modern refactoring approaches, as well as designing the final cloud hosted landing zone. The roadmap laid out the infrastructure (ECS clusters, monitoring, logging and tracing, automated recovery, autoscaling, etc.) as well as a Total Cost of Ownership and an incremental approach to dissecting the application itself into smaller independent services.
Designed a highly extensible log and metric aggregation system that could span across ASCAP's hybrid application portfolio.

Have been a key player in ASCAP's DevSecOps initiatives that include outlining, proposing, and approving workflows; tool choices; CI/CD setup; decisions critical to ASCAP's IT roadmap.
Oversaw the implementation of ASCAP's first AWS ElasticSearch endeavor used for the modernized Online Work Registration system, enabling the search for ASCAP members and titles while typing.
Heavily involved in architecting several applications at ASCAP involving deep dives, rigorous research of application use cases, high-level logical diagrams, and varying intricacies down to column names and data types.

Introduced and implemented several web technologies (Backbone, Bootstrap, Google Analytics, etc.) to bring new applications into the modern age of web development, enabling user experience previously unavailable at ASCAP's Online Membership Application and others.
Well-versed in web tier infrastructure administration, monitoring, configuration, and performance tuning of IBM HTTP Server (IHS), WebSphere Application Server ND, and IBM WebSeal that support ASCAP's member traffic, internal applications, and web services.
Key player in introducing Apache's Solr to replace the aging and difficult in maintenance search/matching system. Not only did this increase performance, but the quality of the results were also increased.
Migrated ASCAP's online applications to newer Java versions (Java 1.4 to 1.5 to 1.6) enabling them to run on the IBM supported application server.
Extensive development experience in J2EE server-side code.
