  • Implementation of risk-based maintenance (RCM, RBI, IPF) resulting in significant cost savings, reduced deferment whilst improving integrity (e.g. first implementation in PDO of RBI for relief valves)
  • Developed and implemented internal verification process to demonstrate Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) meet their Performance Standards prior to start-up. Setup of SCEs in SAP for integrity assurance.

  • SPEX operates the Malampaya deep water gas-to-power project consisting of an offshore platform, onshore gas plant connected by a 500km subsea pipeline. Malampaya gas powers 40% of Luzon province (incl. Manila).
  • Responsible for the execution of all maintenance activities on the Malampaya assets, optimising facility reliability and production capacity. Managed a team of 40+ expatriate & local employees and contractors.
  • Reduced the backlog of overdue safety critical maintenance by 90%, returned PM compliance from 60% back to >98%,
  • Step change in maintenance execution performance through planning & scheduling. Restructured team to drive accountability.
  • Platform Shutdown Coordinator and Company Site Representative on accommodation vessel (POB 300) during 25-day shutdown. Completed >95% of scope with no injuries. Managed helicopter, vessel and material movements through two typhoons.
  • Secured senior executive approval for a $26mln project to liquidate overdue maintenance (major risk to safety, integrity and reliability).
  • Changed execution strategies for relief valve re-certifications and plant inspections, which enabled completion on time but at 35% of the cost.
  • Resolved outstanding commercial and technical disputes as Contract Holder of Rolls Royce Gas Compression Packages.

  • Lead a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program developing supporting tools and work processes and leveraging the company’s SAP system.
  • Implemented Risk Assessment Matrix to prioritise corrective maintenance (precursor to global SAP solution)

  • Developed the asset management systems enabling the transition from a construction project to a revenue generating asset.
