Corey Yoakam is the special education director for North Columbus Preparatory Academy in Columbus, Ohio. He began this position in 2021 following 2 years with Mercer County Schools in Mercer, Pennsylvania, where he served as the director of school safety and violence prevention for all 13 schools in the district. During his time in this role, he was chosen to join the Pennsylvania Department of Education Trauma-Informed education work group. Corey Yoakam previously spent time as president and board member with South Range Local Schools in Canfield, Ohio, and special education director at Summit Academy in Youngstown.
Mr. Yoakam began a doctor of educational leadership program at the American College of Education in 2019. He previously earned his master of education in educational leadership from the college in 2018. He also holds a master of arts in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University and a bachelor of science in special education with a focus on mild/moderate to moderate/intense from Youngstown State University.
