About Me
Dr. Yoram Keinan draws on more than 25 years of experience in tax law in both the United States and Israel, to serve as a part-time professor at Georgetown Law Center and the University of Michigan Law School. In addition to teaching courses on taxation of financial products and institutions, Dr. Yoram Keinan has assisted with admissions processes, supervised doctoral dissertations, and mentored many graduate students.

A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School with a doctor of juridical science (SJD) and a master's degree in tax law, Dr. Yoram Keinan holds dual master’s degrees from Harvard University as well. Additionally, he received a master's of law in taxation from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MBA from Bar Ilan University.

Committed to public service and pro bono work, Dr. Yoram Keinan served as a judge in the American Bar Association Tax Section’s Student Tax Challenge initiative (LSTC). He has also volunteered in the Low Income Tax Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School, which assists low-income Michigan tax-payers in resolving their issues with the IRS.

Dr. Yoram Keinan has been a prominent expert on Taxation of Financial Instruments and the Economic Substances Doctrine, and has been speaking about these topics and others in many venues, including the American Bar Association (ABA) Tax Section, Practicing Law Institute (PLI) and Tax Executive Institute (TEI).
