An experienced finance executive based in New York City, William Dawson began pursuing a career in his field after obtaining a bachelor of science in accounting from St. Francis College in 1986. He joined Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) Securities Corporation that year and spent three years as a financial analyst. After completing a master of business administration in management at Harvard Business School, William Dawson was promoted to managing director at DLJ Merchant Banking.
He served nine years in this role and subsequently worked as managing director at Whitney & Co. in Stamford, Connecticut. He joined a middle-market private equity firm Management in New York City in 2001 and has served as its CEO since 2014. He holds responsibility for the general management of the firm and belongs to its investment committee.
In addition to guiding the aforementioned financial services firms, he has served on the boards of over 20 companies during his 35-year career. Moreover, he has been involved in multiple acquisitions, leveraged financings, restructurings, and recapitalizations.
