Drawing on a career as a security and computer engineer, Wayne Nordstrom is a student at the University of Maryland Global Campus who is pursuing a bachelor of science in cybersecurity and networks. Before entering the program in June 2020, Wayne Nordstrom attended Cape Cod Community College, where he earned an associate degree in cybersecurity with a focus on penetration testing.
While pursuing the degree, which he earned cum laude, Mr. Nordstrom obtained certificates in a range of areas, including CompTIA Linux+ and Security+, alongside being a certified ethical hacker. He also holds a professional certificate from Cisco Systems in network systems and security, which he gained at Bunker Hill Community College in 2014.
During his time at the college, Wayne Nordstrom joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a network and endpoint security engineer and supported over 100,000 of its users. In addition, he managed the center’s Linux-based applications while improving these systems’ overall reliability.
