I am an 11-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, interview host, and executive moderator with more than 25 years of on-air experience.
I spent 18 years at Fox 2 Detroit as an evening anchor, investigative reporter, and livestreaming host, after anchoring and reporting at ABC 12 in Flint and WLNS-TV in Lansing. My investigative work required sourced, high-stakes interviews with executives, public officials, crime victims, and whistleblowers, and my continuing coverage of the synthetic drug epidemic in metro Detroit helped prompt a state ban. In 2020, I anchored nearly two hours of live coverage of Detroit's Black Lives Matter protests from my home, without a script or producer contact, and earned an Emmy for Best News Anchor. I have also been honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and The Associated Press.
Through Taryn Asher Media, I bring that experience to brands and organizations. I host branded interview podcasts, corporate video, and executive interview series; moderate panels and conferences; voice corporate video, e-learning, and brand campaigns; and provide media training for executives.
I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from Michigan State University.
