Based in Burlington, Kentucky, Tamblyn Borton has acquired extensive experience in environmental and land use analysis. Her project management expertise includes over 10 years in various organizations, such as the California Energy Commission and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA). Most recently, Tamblyn Borton served as the Permitting Supervisor at Star Construction LLC. Her role entailed tracking all permitting activities and ensuring that construction supervisors obtained the necessary permit documentation before construction.
Previously, Ms. Borton worked on several projects as a Land Use Consultant. She served as the Senior Project Manager for the United States Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit, where she ensured compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
In her undergraduate years, Ms. Borton studied Natural Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts. During that time, she worked for the daily newspaper on campus, which led to a decade-long career in journalism. Covering local government and business led to a real estate beat, where she became very interested in land use policy. Thus, she later earned a master’s degree in Urban Planning from California State University. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding and yoga. Dedicated to animal rights, she is planning to launch a nonprofit home for old or injured cats.
