A graduate of Fordham University, Shannah Hall Franckum began her career working as a research assistant to the senior partner in charge of practice development at Touche Ross & CO, a New York-based law firm. Shannah Hall Franckum secured a position as an administrative assistant and eventually served as personal secretary and assistant to the managing partner of the firm’s New York offices. She went on to serve as the office manager at the Law Offices of Attorney Scott H. Robb. Returning to research in 1984, she served as the research consultant to KMG Main Hurdman’s director of space business consulting.

Moving to Massachusetts in 1986, Shannah Hall Franckum secured the position of vice president and director of leasing for Cambridge Development and Investment Associates (CDIA). In this role, which she held until 1996, she oversaw leasing for the Porter Exchange Building Development Project as well as the building’s conversion into retail and office space. Her vision of a ‘Japan Town’ for the Boston/Cambridge area attracted a number of Japanese enterprises including restaurants and small businesses, many of which continue to thrive today.

Leaving CDIA in 1996, Ms. Franckum served as director of retail leasing for the commercial division of Hammond Real Estate. She left this position in 2002 to found and serve as principal of the Cambridge Real Estate Company.
