Based in Gainesville, Florida, Scott Rusis has a background in the US military and law enforcement. Since 2008, he has owned and operated Black Dog Mechanical, providing mechanical contracting services to clients that include the US military. Scott Rusis is well versed in the maintenance of heating and cooling systems ranging from refrigeration to gas piping, and also oversees large chiller installations.
Mr. Rusis also directs operations at Basic Black, a company that engineers and produces high-quality, bullet-resistant equipment that meets the needs of tactical teams involved in law enforcement and special forces operations. He has a focus on maintaining technological accountability while crafting superior, quality, custom products designed to save lives.
From 1994 to 2007, Mr. Rusis served as a narcotics detective and SWAT detective within the Orlando community, where he responded to serious situations ranging from robberies in progress to apprehending those involved in illegal transactions. Scott Rusis also served with the US Marine Corps’ FAST Team, and was part of a dedicated security force regiment that safeguarded high-value installations.
