Good Sam Roadside Assistance Review — An RV Technician’s Honest Take
16 Dec 2025
If you’ve spent any real time on the road with an RV, you already know this truth: a breakdown in an RV is not the same as a breakdown in a car. When a sedan gets a flat tire, almost any roadside service can handle it. When a 35-foot Class A loses a tire, blows […]
Best Class C Motorhomes to Full-Time Live In
12 Dec 2025
Living full-time in a Class C motorhome is a very different conversation than choosing an RV for weekend trips or summer vacations. When you live in an RV year-round, you stop caring about flashy brochures and start caring about things most sales reps never talk about: insulation quality, tank capacity, cargo carrying capacity, service access, […]
How Many Watts Does an RV Air Conditioner Use?
10 Dec 2025
If you walk up to ten RV owners and ask, “How many watts does your AC use?” you’ll probably get ten different answers — and several of them will be wrong. Some will repeat whatever they saw in a Facebook group: “A 13,500 BTU AC uses 1,500 watts, period.“ Others will give you the breaker […]
How Does an RV Air Conditioner Work?
09 Dec 2025
When you’re camping in real summer heat, your RV’s air conditioner is doing far more work than most homeowners ever ask of their AC. It’s fighting heat from the sun, heat coming through the walls, heat from appliances — all inside a small insulated box parked on asphalt or gravel. I’ve serviced rooftop AC units […]
How to Clean an RV Air Conditioner Like a Technician
09 Dec 2025
If your RV AC has started blowing weaker air, freezing up, dripping water inside, or making more noise than usual — it’s probably overdue for a good cleaning. RV air conditioners work hard in tight, dusty environments, and even a thin layer of dirt on the coils can make the difference between cold air and […]
How to Charge a Deep Cycle Battery Properly [Real RV Technician’s Guide]
08 Dec 2025
If you spend enough time around RVs, you’ll quickly realize one thing: nothing inside your rig works without a healthy battery. From the lights to the water pump to your beloved inverter that keeps the coffee maker alive — your deep-cycle battery is silently carrying the load. But here’s a truth that many new RVers […]
What Does “SUL” Mean on a Battery Charger?
05 Dec 2025
If you’ve ever hooked up your battery to the charger and suddenly saw a “SUL”, “SULFATE”, or a similar warning pop up, you’re not alone. I’ve lost count of how many RV owners, boaters, and even mechanics have asked me, “Is my battery fried? What does this thing even mean?” Here’s the plain truth: “SUL” […]
RV Mattress Sizes: A Complete Expert Guide for RV Owners
01 Dec 2025
If you’ve ever tried replacing the mattress in your RV, you already know one thing: RV mattress sizes don’t follow the same rules as household mattresses. A “Queen” in your RV usually isn’t the same size as the Queen in your bedroom at home. Kings come in multiple RV-only variations. Corners may be cut. Lengths […]
How to Keep Your RV Mattress Topper From Sliding
26 Nov 2025
If you’ve spent enough nights sleeping in an RV, you know one thing for sure: the factory mattress that comes with most rigs isn’t exactly built for comfort. That’s why many RVers – myself included- turn to a mattress topper as an easy fix. Just roll it out, let it expand, add a fitted sheet, […]
How Long Does Your RV TPMS Last?
29 Oct 2025
If you’ve been on the road for a while, you probably already know how important your TPMS is. It’s that quiet little guardian that keeps watch over your tires, warning you when something’s not right before it turns into a blown tire or a ruined trip. But here’s a question many RV owners don’t think […]
