Having served at some of New York City’s leading financial firms, Scott Marchakitus co-founded The Fort Athletic Club, which offers an upscale fitness experience to residents on the northern New Jersey seashore. When Scott Marchakitus became CEO of The Fort in 2017, he organized in into a number of high-tech exercise studios, with names such as Base Ops, Hot Zone, and Earn Your Stripes. The facility also offers family activities such as soccer on a full-size field, basketball, and other sports.
Mr. Marchakitus has always been an athlete, playing football in high school and rugby in college. His children have continued this tradition, playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He has also coached at several institutions.
Also displaying an aptitude for money management at a young age, Mr. Marchakitus graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a bachelor’s in business. He then moved on to the University of Baltimore, where he earned a master’s degree in finance.
Entering Wall Street in 1994, Mr. Marchakitus joined JPMorgan, where he became a vice president. Other executive positions followed at Goldman Sachs, where he managed 35 analysts. After serving at Imperial Capital and Deutsche Bank, Mr. Marchakitus now studies the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors as a portfolio manager for American Century Investments.
