The recipient of a bachelor's degree in political science from California State University at Northridge and an MBA from George Washington University, Scott Hounsell began his career in public relations and worked for various real estate firms from 2001 to 2007. Shortly after, Scott Hounsell entered the political sphere and began working as a policy deputy and field representative for the Office of Assemblymember Cameron M. Smyth. He served three years in this capacity, during which time he oversaw an internship program that provided workers for the White House, U.S. Capitol, and State Capitol.
Scott Hounsell later served as executive director of both The California Young Republican Federation and the Republican Party of Los Angeles County. With the latter organization, he reorganized party headquarters and created a successful plan to revitalize fund-raising efforts and retire outstanding debt. He also served one year as executive director of Educate and Empower Kids.
Mr. Hounsell concurrently worked as CEO of The Del Cielo Group from 2011 to 2018, during which time he provided consultancy services to more than a dozen independent expenditure and political candidate campaigns. He has won multiple debate and speech awards and has also authored articles for RedState.com.
