Perform original cataloguing on non-print, Electronic and music materials, e.g. Audio-visual materials, computer files, microfiches, microfilms, maps, games, kits, charts, transparencies, electronic journals and databases and music;
Assist the chief cataloguer to make decisions on cataloguing issues; e.g. Decide new cataloguing formats for new materials; maintain cataloguing authorities; perform quality control on cataloguing records;
Provide supervision and training to library trainees from overseas library schools, library assistants and newly employed Assistant Librarians on descriptive & subject cataloguing, classification and on various library projects;
Liaise with Audio-visual materials outsourcing providers with Systems Dept. for diagnosing and analysing problems of the cataloguing module of INNOPAC;
Responsible for various projects: e.g. The Last Governor Online project, the Electronic Resources Management Project and the Regrouping of Nonprint Materials Project;
Assist the Systems Librarian to maintain the INNOPAC cataloguing module;
Collect Internet Resources in the area of Computer Science;
Take up after-hour and Saturday afternoon Reference duties on a roster-basis. Provide library tours and user education on using library materials, library automated catalogue and electronic resources.
