After earning a bachelor's degree in film and philosophy from Ohio University, bestselling crime novelist Robert Ellis started his career working as a writer, producer, and director in film, television, and advertising. His early work includes documentaries, television ads, reality television, and feature films. Eventually, Robert Ellis made his way to Los Angeles, where he ghostwrote the final script for Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4, the most successful film in the series, before finding his voice as a novelist.

Robert Ellis' first novel, Access to Power, was published in 2001 and became a national bestseller. He followed it up with The Dead Room, another bestseller, in 2002 and went on to write five more novels, including 2015's City of Echoes and 2016's The Love Killings. His novels have been translated into more than 10 languages and selected as top reads by a number of national and international publications.

In addition to writing, Mr. Ellis visits book groups and reading clubs throughout the country. When he is not working, he enjoys cooking and listening to music.
