Scarborough, Maine-based finance executive Richard McCarthy draws upon more than two decades of experience in his role as CFO at Avery Investments. Richard McCarthy helped launch the syndication investing firm in 2019 and is currently focused on investing in health care properties (specifically residential care facilities) and commercial real estate in smaller cities with growth potential. The Scarborough, Maine, resident concurrently serves as CFO at DLTC Healthcare and Bella Point.
Prior to his current positions, he spent 4 years as finance director at Quest Diagnostics. He also served 7 years in the same role at United Technologies. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds an MBA and bachelor's degree in accounting from Purdue University and Fairfield University, respectively.
When he isn't working, he enjoys playing golf, gardening, and watching football. He's a fan of Tom Brady and a season ticket holder of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His other interests include collecting cigars and traveling.
