Regina Wallace-Jones serves as President and CEO of ActBlue, the nonprofit platform that has raised more than $18 billion for Democratic candidates and progressive causes since 2004. She took office in January 2023, succeeding Erin Hill who led the organization for 14 years. Wallace-Jones became the fourth leader in ActBlue's history and the first Black woman to hold the chief executive position. Under her direction, ActBlue processed $3.8 billion in donations during the 2023–2024 cycle, with continued growth into the off-year: more than $390 million in Q2 2025 and nearly $500 million in Q3 2025.
Born in West Covina, California, Wallace-Jones is one of four daughters of Edward and Alice Wallace, both union laborers with the Communications Workers of America. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where she joined Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She obtained a Master of Public Policy from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs in 1999, focusing on telecommunications and technology policy.
Her technology career spans more than 25 years. She began as a systems engineer at Motorola and held multiple positions at Covad Communications, advancing to Director of Operations. At Yahoo, she served as Senior Director of Technology & Operations. At Facebook, she held the position of Chief of Staff and Head of Security Operations, leading teams that protected the platform's global user base. At eBay, she served as Chief of Staff and Head of Product Operations. Her progression at Mindbody included SVP of Product Services, SVP of Insight & Innovation, and SVP of Products & Engineering, where she led teams across four continents. She served as Chief Operating Officer at LendStreet.
Her political engagement began as Regional Field Organizer for President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign while working at Yahoo and raising young children. She won election to the East Palo Alto City Council in November 2018 with 2,370 votes, placing first among seven candidates and defeating a 13-year incumbent. Her colleagues appointed her Vice Mayor immediately and later selected her as Mayor in 2020. During her mayoral year, she guided the city through the COVID-19 pandemic, establishing testing sites when East Palo Alto's positivity rate reached 15.4 percent, compared to the county's 4.1 percent.
She serves as a mentor with StreetCode Academy and chairs the board of Sama, a B Corp certified AI company. UCLA Luskin honored her as 2023 MPP Alumna of the Year. U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty invited her as a special guest to President Biden's February 2023 State of the Union Address.
