About Me
An accomplished venture capitalist based in Portola Valley, California, Paul Holland is a general partner (emeritus) at Foundation Capital. The firm invests in early-stage companies in industries such as software, consumer products, and energy. He joined the firm in 2001 as a general partner and went on to invest in several startups, growing them from zero sales to over $100 million in buyouts and initial public offerings (IPOs). Before working at Foundation Capital, Paul Holland was the senior vice president of sales and global operations at Kana Communications. He was hired by the company in 1997 to revamp sales. This helped the company attain a market capitalization of over $9 billion at its IPO. Before this, he served as vice president of European operations at Pure Software, a company he helped grow and eventually sell for over $1 billion.
