About Me
Patrick Walsh PW Partners founded and led PW Partners, an investment firm celebrated for its strategic focus on value-driven initiatives. His expansive career has been marked by investment management and consumer industry expertise. He is proficient in corporate strategy, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, hedge funds, investment banking, and equity management. His work and insights have been highlighted in well-known media outlets like Barron's, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, The New York Times, Restaurant News, and the Los Angeles Times.

Born in San Diego, California, to a naval officer father and a school teacher mother, he moved with his family to New England at the age of two. Raised in Boston, Massachusetts, he initially attended Wesleyan University, where he studied Economics and excelled in athletics, playing football and baseball. A back injury ended his athletic pursuits prematurely, prompting a transfer to Boston College, where he graduated with honors in Accounting.

Patrick Walsh pursued the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential, successfully passing all three exam levels on his first attempts. He further expanded his investment understanding by participating in Columbia University's Executive Value Investing Program, led by Professor Greenwald.

His professional career began in 1998 with positions at Prudential Capital Group and Prudential Securities, where he focused on Commercial Real Estate and publicly traded REITs. He later served as vice president in the real estate, gaming, lodging, and leisure investment banking group at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. Before launching PW Partners, he was a partner at a Chicago-based value-oriented hedge fund.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to involve himself in various sectors beyond investment banking. He has been a board member of companies such as BJ's Restaurants, Del Taco, Famous Dave's of America, and Town Sports International, where he has implemented significant improvements that showcase his keen investment skills and business insights. In recognition of his influence in the restaurant industry, Restaurant News named him one of the 50 most influential people in 2015.

In 2018, Ernst and Young awarded him the Entrepreneur of The Year title in New York for his successful turnaround of Town Sports International, which he rescued from the brink of bankruptcy in 2016. Under his leadership, the company's stock price escalated from a mere 92 cents to over $14, validating his strategic and operational enhancements. EY has recognized entrepreneurs like Howard Schultz, Pierre Omidyar, and Jeff Bezos for their impactful contributions, and he joins this list of celebrated innovators.

In his personal life, he is an avid reader with a diverse literary palette and enjoys staying active with fitness routines, cooking, and traveling.

Patrick Walsh, PW Partners, continues to be a significant force in the investment community. He leverages his vast expertise and insights to propel success in each of his business endeavors.
