About Me
Michelle Pourciau has been serving as the President of MP Synergy in Washington, DC, since 2019, leveraging her extensive expertise to drive impactful initiatives and foster synergy between public and private entities. An experienced government official with expertise in transportation management, Michelle Pourciau most recently served two years as a director at the Baltimore City Department of Transportation (DOT). Here, she was tasked with overseeing the 1,250-employee and $250-million budget department and facilitating all planning activities for transportation improvements.

Among other accomplishments in this role, Michelle Pourciau oversaw the construction of more than $250 million worth of bridge projects and over 200 miles of roadway rehabilitation. She also cataloged thousands of recommended transportation improvements to create the first Baltimore City Baseline Transportation Plan.

Prior to joining the Baltimore City DOT, Michelle Pourciau served as executive director of external affairs at the University of the District of Columbia. She previously held transportation-based leadership roles at Sigma Associates, Inc., McKissack & McKissack, and American Traffic Solutions.

From 1985 to 2007, Ms. Pourciau worked in varying roles with the District of Columbia Government. She served in DOT deputy director and director capacities during the latter seven years, during which time she earned the top agency customer service award from Mayor Williams and the Joint Performance Team Award from the Federal Highway Administrator for her efforts in developing the Joint Performance Plan. She spent the prior 15 years as the director's assistant and in planning roles in the Department of Public Works.

She holds a master's degree in city and regional planning from Howard University and a bachelor's degree in urban studies from the University of Michigan.
