Overview
Artem Melnyk is a Canada-based applied researcher, EdTech founder, and open-source contributor, certified by the U.S. Peace Corps, with published work spanning nuclear physics, advanced mathematics, environmental science, and computational systems.

He founded and leads ERTHIOX, a growing collection of live, research-driven EdTech platforms built around adaptive learning, gamification, and practical education. His engineering work sits at the intersection of AI, personalized learning systems, and web infrastructure, and he regularly ships custom-built platforms for real users.

Beyond, Artem participated as an invited guest at a closed governmental conference on public relations and financial regulation organized by the Kyiv City State Administration, led a 100-hour-produced IT workshop for a newcomer support organization with custom-built career simulation tools, served as a Summer Council Member organizing large-scale youth events, and hosted and led the Archdiocese of Toronto's annual Family Dinner Dance across two consecutive years.

He writes on technology, science, and innovation, and contributes to open-source projects on GitHub.

Glix

  • Right now, one of the primary projects taking up a significant portion of development time is Glix, a browser-based 2D game engine built entirely around a local-first philosophy.
  • The idea behind Glix is straightforward: open a browser, start building a game, and save everything to a single portable file on your own machine, no accounts, no installs, no backend infrastructure required. Under the hood, Glix runs on a WebGL2 renderer with batched sprite rendering, custom shader support, and post-processing capabilities, paired with a full Entity-Component System architecture that keeps the engine clean and fully scriptable in TypeScript.
  • The built-in visual editor includes a viewport, hierarchy panel, inspector, script editor powered by Monaco, a tilemap editor with auto-collision, and one-click export to a self-contained HTML bundle that runs anywhere. It sits in a gap between tools like Godot, which is powerful but desktop-only, and PlayCanvas, which requires an account, designed specifically for developers who want fast iteration in a tool that stays out of the way.

ERTHIOX

  • Alongside Glix, a large portion of ongoing work is dedicated to ERTHIOX, the growing collection of live, research-driven education platforms that form the core of the EdTech venture.
  • ERTHIOX is not a single product but an ecosystem, each platform built with a distinct approach to learning, testing different ideas around engagement, structure, and personalization.
  • New platforms are actively in development, existing ones are being updated based on real user feedback, and the overall direction is toward building a suite of tools that collectively cover a wide range of learning styles and subjects. Gamification runs through all of them, with systems like experience points, achievement levels, daily challenges, and leaderboards designed to make the learning experience feel less passive and more interactive.
