My name is Mei and I’m currently studying my master of management (CEMS) degree at USYD and doing my exchange semester at CBS.
I worked as a translator in a professional translation services company for one and a half year. One reason I particularly enjoyed this business, and the challenges that went along with it, was the opportunity to learn about new knowledge every day. Before that, I worked as a marketing and administrative intern in a property development company and this experience has allowed me to develop my research skills and analytical skills.
As a student I have been involved in different school and community activities and these experiences have allowed me to develop strong interpersonal and communication skills, which I see as being very important when working in any professional workplace.
One achievement I’m most proud of was winning the Univative competition last year. Univative Sydney is an annual inter-university consultation competition involving students from different universities. During the competition, my team has been asked to develop a business proposal for Bupa and give recommendations for their health navigator app. And in the end, we were able to win the Bupa project by showing an in-depth understanding of the problem and giving relevant strategies. And this experience has given me an opportunity to develop and improve my skills from teamwork to problem-solving.
If I have to describe myself in three words, I would say flexible, reliable and organized.
Majors: Marketing and Finance Achieved a credit average.
