A graduate of St. Cloud University with a bachelor of arts in comprehensive industrial chemistry, Marty Hinz earned an MD from the University of Minnesota. After completing a family practice residency at the Blackhawk Area Medical Education Foundation, he began his career in emergency medicine, working on a rotating basis at emergency departments in hospitals in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Marty Hinz, MD, also spent several years as an adjunct instructor at the University of Duluth, Minnesota.
Since 1994, Dr. Hinz has served as medical director of Morgan Park Clinic in Duluth, Minnesota. He also leads NeuroResearch, Inc. as president. In the latter role, he studies the clinical applications of amino acids to manage neurological conditions. He has developed the Marty Hinz MD Hinz Medical Foods™ for the management of hyposerotonergic™ conditions. He maintains membership in the American Medical Association.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, and playing billiards. He also has an aircraft private pilot license.
