As principal at Meeting Street Academy (MSA) in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Kyndran Hilton leverages more than a decade of experience in education to support the development of more than 30 teachers in classroom management, lesson execution, and curriculum internalization. She was appointed school principal in 2020, before which she spent five years as dean of instruction. Kyndran Hilton joined the school as a Kindergarten and Grade 1 teacher in 2013.
Through two years as a teacher at MSA, Kyndran Hilton established network records with NWEA MAP Assessment scores. A proponent of mindfulness and meditation, she incorporates these practices in education and believes they have been integral to student success at MSA; the school was a National Blue Ribbon School in 2019.
Ms. Hilton began her career as a graduate student teacher at Rock Bridge Elementary School. She is a Teach for America alumnus, former Girls on the Run leader, and Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program presenter. She holds a master's degree in teaching from Georgia State University and a bachelor of arts in Spanish from the University of South Carolina.
