About Me
When knowledge is spread, it is contagious and it serves. I enjoy empowering and teaching the knowledge I have gained. It is often observed, so I've felt, that technology specialist would rather keep the user in the dark than share basic technology information. I do not believe in this. I am a teacher at heart, a helper and sharer of knowledge.
A gift has been given, I believe, the ability to share what I know through understandable examples and analogies that enable the people I come in contact with to understand and not fear technology.
I've become accustomed through my experience, to being well rounded in as many direct technology aspects of small business needs as humanly possible. This can often be difficult, and I am not afraid to admit that often times being well rounded can be stressful. However, challenges can be met with a cool head, patience, discipline, and a willingness to learn and serve others.

Detailed Description
- SharePoint Project:
Worked closely with staff members to replace their existing Excel format and enhance their existing methods and adding valuable man hours on a new SharePoint project from the ground up. Setup a Virtual Server, Installed SharePoint Services, Configured SMTP Connector, roles and site permissions for client's staff and administrators, customized workflows for a semi-automated company wide time off request calendar with notification system for managerial authorization.
The project exposed me to a greater understanding, through practice with SharePoint Designer 2010, another valuable asset to enhance client collaboration techniques through technology.
- Maintenance Department Ticket Request System Project:
Used my knowledge in ASP.NET / VB.NET / SQL to create a web based application ticket system for incoming IT and Maintenance Department requests for a local residential school.
This solo project has been evolving to also encompass an administrative portal for the school's website that I also designed as well as a Supply Request Form for Staff. I learned role based authentication through ASP.NET Provider Services on this project. This opportunity furthered my abilities in providing data driven solutions to an environment that was using a paper system while juggling IT Help Desk Services & Desktop Support, Server Administration, Data Security and Network upkeep.
- Web Based Application Project, educational setting:
This solo project took over 2 years to develop and I am still working with the company to apply a licensing platform to distribute the application. The application, published to the web in May of 2013, was designed for data intake analysis for mentally challenged children.
The application development and design was a large undertaking as I worked closely with this company, many sleepless nights, to develop it in a way that largely resembled their current product line. The project has been an overall success and is used currently with their clientele. I gained a wealth of knowledge again in ASP.NET, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, VB.NET and HTML.
- Network Overhauls:
Cosmetics aren't always something that can be justified when talking to clients about networks. However, on occasion, design flaws, 'the cosmetics' of a network can cause havoc when troubleshooting loop-backs and the like. As often as I can, I'll undertake the task of restoring, rewiring, and re-designing a network with better quality cabling, chase new cable, tidy up and manufacture new patch work to ensure the best transmission of data across a network.
Networking gives me an opportunity to use a different part of my brain that I enjoy very much, and have no reservations about not working weekends or getting a little dirty while maintaining company wide functionality in the process. One such project alleviated network connectivity issues as it relieved a handful of known issues and resulted in, a now happier, staff base and returned quality functionality.
