Most often, when I'm introduced on stage for a speech I am touted as that "crazy idiot" who stood up from a boardroom table and excused himself from a multi million dollar a year consulting gig because of a fundamental difference of opinion about what mattered most in that clients business. I mean.. who quits a 7 figure job? I do, if it's about morals and ethics.
For me, nothing in business matters more than the experience and ultimate satisfaction or fulfillment of your client or customer. Nothing!
Sales take a back seat to an honest and transparent sales process. Budgets take a back seat to making sure that your resources are devoted to where they will do the most good for the people who trust you with the money to ensure you have a budget in the first place. And your companies culture depends on the 'buy in' of every single member of your team of those two concepts.
When you take the time to build a quality product, sales will follow. Returns will reduce. Customer satisfaction will spread and increase word of mouth. Employee morale and culture will increase. It all begins with a quality product or service.
