Raised in Iowa, John Thomas Forstrom attended Cedar Rapids Public Schools before enrolling at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul. He obtained his bachelor of arts in business administration summa cum laude and subsequently relocated to California, where he studied finance at San Diego State University (SDSU). John Thomas Forstrom earned his master of business administration from SDSU in 1990 and embarked on a career in investment banking.
Working for a large bank in Miami, Mr. Forstrom performs senior management duties that range from strategic planning and budgeting to setting bank interest rates for both loans and deposits. His specific areas of expertise include personnel/compensation and asset/liabilities management.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys a wide variety of recreational activities including gardening and photography. He is also an avid automotive enthusiast who likes to restore vintage cars, and is an active member of both a Corvette Club and a Mercedes Benz Club.
