A longtime resident of Akron, Ohio, John Stack established Oakmont Education in 2018 to better serve local communities with educational alternatives for students who have dropped out of high school. Through Oakmont’s services, students can work not only toward a high school diploma, but also various industry credentials that allow for gainful post-graduate work in several high-demand industries. Drawing on two decades of experience with Ohio-area dropout recovery high schools, John Stack has helped develop a comprehensive technical career education curriculum that has been successfully implemented at a number of schools. This curriculum not only provides students with a pathway to graduation and employment, but also allows teachers to address the unique needs of a diverse student body.
Over the course of his time as president and chief executive officer of Oakmont Education, John Stack has successfully developed relationships with a number of local businesses and community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. These partnerships provide students with valuable opportunities for field experience in a number of different technical fields.
