A law enforcement professional in King Salmon, Alaska, John Rhyshek has served as department head with the Bristol Bay Police Department since 2010. In this role, he oversees five officers and six dispatch positions, in addition to managing daily operations for a detention center. Mr. Rhyshek holds a bachelor of science in environmental studies with a minor in anthropology from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, and completed law enforcement and trooper training at the Alaska Law Enforcement Training Academy. Outside his professional responsibilities, Mr. Rhyshek is an avid pilot who enjoys flying several types of aircraft. A member of the Civil Air Patrol, he joins the organization of citizen airmen in supporting American communities with aviation and ground services. Additionally, he spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, and fishing.
