About Me
Jessica Dean is a partner of Dean Omar Branham Shirley (DOB+S), a nationally-recognized trial law firm focusing on workers' rights, consumer protection, and shareholders' rights cases.

Jessica Dean was born in St. Louis, Missouri as one of eight children. As a teenager, she worked as a waitress while she spent time on the swim and debate teams in school. The debate club was a precursor to an interest in a legal career. She then attended Boston University and graduated in 1999 magna cum laude with a double major in economics and political science prior to studying law at University of Texas School of Law, where she graduated cum laude.

While attending law school, she met future law firm partner Amin Omar. Starting out as mock trial partners, they envisioned starting a firm together later in their careers. Jessica Dean's early career as an attorney entailed representing people hurt in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as workers who sued for unpaid wages. She was interviewed by her other future law partner, Trey Branham, for her next job representing cancer patients and people whose loved ones died from asbestos exposure.

The experience working with people who died or became severely incapacitated from occupational injuries gave Jessica Dean the drive to start her own law firm with her former classmates and co-workers, where they could focus on litigating individual and class action cases for the "everyman" who was not used to engaging an attorney or raising an argument against their employer.

Attorney Jessica Dean has been recognized for her passion for helping others wronged by institutions and corporations and fighting for their rights. She has been named a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star Honoree for eight years running, voted one of the Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Dallas, and attained the National Law Journal's Top 100 verdicts twice.

Jessica Dean is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the northern, eastern, and western districts of Texas in addition to the state bars of Pennsylvania and California.
