A successful restaurateur, Jelani "Lani" Wray is the owner of Wray's Caribbean and Seafood Cuisine, which she opened in 2014. At the Brooklyn-based restaurant, Jelani Wray is responsible for maintaining inventories and compliance with health and safety standards while ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service.
In addition to running the restaurant, Lani Wray has also served as music production manager at Humble King Records since January 2020. Previously, she worked in a similar role at Free Form Productions. For six years, she was responsible for discovering and signing new artists while also balancing artistic endeavors with the commercial marketplace. Through her work in music production, she has been invited as a guest speaker at several events, such as A3C 2013, where she sat on the State of Hip-Hop: Where Do We Go From Here panel.
She holds a bachelor of arts in music and performing arts from Lincoln University, where she also studied business and marketing and graduated in 2006.
