Chicago, Illinois, property development and investment management firm Horizon Realty Group was established in 1984, and Jeffrey Michael was hired as its chief operating officer in 2001. At the time of this appointment, Horizon Realty Group had 10 properties. It now has 24 multi-family properties, with more than 2400 units valued at over $500 million. Jeffrey Michael has contributed to these efforts by scouring the Chicago market for acquisition opportunities, in addition to managing the firm's debt portfolio and implementing operational and management processes. Some of its recently revitalized projects include The Edge at Sheridan and The District at Sheridan.
Prior to joining the firm, he served 4 years as an associate at Altheimer & Grey, where he represented investors, developers, and lending institutions in financing and acquisition transactions. He holds a juris doctor degree with a focus in real estate from the University of Illinois College of Law, and a bachelor's degree in real estate from the University of Illinois Champaign.
Outside of his professional pursuits, he is a supporter of the Jewish United Fund, Keshet, and the Friends of Israeli Defense Forces. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to New York and California, as well as ski resorts throughout the US.
