After earning his bachelor of science in chemical engineering, from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and completing an engineering internship with Allison Gas Turbine, James Kevin Kaufman, MD, found employment as assistant to the neurological staff for photography at Neurological Associates in Charleston, West Virginia. James Kevin Kaufman, MD, worked for a year at Neurological Associates before returning to the academic arena to complete graduate studies in molecular biology at West Virginia University (WVU).
He remained at WVU for medical school, ultimately earning his doctor of medicine (MD) with honors in 1994. Dr. Kevin Kaufman subsequently completed training through the Indiana University School of Medicine as both an intern in general surgery and a resident in neurological surgery.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Kaufman has performed neurosurgery with several medical organizations, and also as a private practitioner. For the past two years, he has been working as a neurosurgeon with Surgical Consultants of America in Hurst, Texas.
