English Philologist from Galicia (Spain) seeking employment as a translator, transcriber and/or translator.
I am a native speaker of both Spanish and Galician, which makes me able to read Portuguese, and I also speak English (C2 level), French (B2) and Spanish Sign Language (A2).
As my three years abroad (two in Finland and the USA as an undergraduate student, one in New Zealand as a language assistant and instructor) indicate, I am willing to relocate and have no problem adapting to new environments.
In 2014 I completed an internship at the Supercomputing Center of Galicia, where I carried out technical translation, proofreading and scientific dissemination tasks (both independently and with a team) as part of the Master's in Applied Linguistics which I am currently studying. I have also worked as an ESL and right now I study French at the Alliance Française while doing freelance translation work.
In addition to this, I volunteer as a translator/proofreader/editor for a Galician fanzine and a Spanish blog, as well as for TED Conferences.
