Having spent years as a flight dispatcher, Ionio Aguirre De Carcer is a former director of flight operations at the Miami-based Lloyd AeroBoliviano. While with the company, Ionio Aguirre De Carcer became certified by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics and Federal Aviation Administration to work with Boeing aircraft.
He also concentrated on flights from Miami and Washington to the Caribbean, Bolivia, and Panama. He was primarily responsible for researching weather forecasts while creating flight plans, alongside briefing captains about their flights.
For his first six years in the role, Mr. De Carcer was a flight dispatcher at Lan Chile, which he joined in 1998. In his work with the company, he focused on flights to Columbia, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. While there, he earned his Boeing 767 and Airbus A340 certification.
Also a pilot, Ionio Aguirre De Carcer earned his pilot’s license at ADF Airways Miami Flight School in 2004. In addition, he holds a flight dispatcher license, which he earned at Miami Dade College in 2001.
