Coming on board in 2000 and then serving as the President and Executive Director of Hope Children's Home since 2002, Dr. Mike Higgins oversees operations for all Hope International Ministries, including homes in the United States and Honduras, as well as several Hope Thrift Stores located in Tampa and Clearwater, Florida. His responsibilities include raising money in the private sector to cover operational costs and managing a staff of 50. Dr. Mike Higgins previously served as President of the Florida Association of Child Caring Agencies, which licenses more than 30 children’s homes across the state.
A Licensed Clinical Christian Therapist with the Florida Association of Christian Counselors and Therapists, Dr. Higgins spent 12 years as an Associate Pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Indianapolis. There, he led youth ministries and offered counseling services for families and individuals. Dr. Higgins holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from the Northeast Baptist Bible College.
In addition to his work with Hope International Ministries, Dr. Higgins is a highly sought-after speaker for national and international events. He authored the book Rescuing the Next Generation, Principles for Parents, published in 2002.
