A member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Guarn A. Sims is a Boynton Beach, Florida-based educational administrator who serves as principal at Bright Futures Academy. He joined the school in 2019, prior to which he served as principal at Boynton Beach High School. Guarn A. Sims has more than two decades of experience in educational leadership roles and has a proven track record of increasing student metrics such as graduation rate and grade performance.
Guarn A. Sims has earned multiple awards for his commitment to student success and excellence in oversight of educational institutions. These include the Council for Educational Change's 2015 Leonard Miller Principal Leadership Award, Palm Beach School Guidance Counselors Association's 2014 Middle School Administrator of the Year, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s 2013 Leadership in Education Award. Beyond his work in youth education, he is a certified life coach instructor at Pathways to Prosperity, where he helps adults develop necessary life skills to improve their financial situations.
Mr. Sims is also a grilling enthusiast who in 2010 founded Smoker 61 BBQ, LLC, and provides catering services to multiple community events. He holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Florida A&M University and bachelor's degree in youth services and government from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
