About Me
A private equity professional with expertise in analyzing industrial and energy assets, North Carolina’s George Mabry has provided more than $2 billion in high-yield financing to those industries, and closed more than 20 mineral and leasehold acquisitions across four basins in the continental US. He serves as an associate at New 2ND Capital, and previously worked as director of the Kenan-Flager Private Equity Fund in Chapel Hill. George Mabry held this role while pursuing an MBA at the University of North Carolina (UNC).

Prior to enrolling at UNC, Mr. Mabry served 4 years as a high-yield associate director at Barings, formerly known as Babson Capital. During his time with the firm, he created sensitivity tables and valuation models to measure credit performance for dozens of oil and gas companies, and pitched distressed investment opportunities that led to an 85 percent internal rate of return. He was also integral to the restructuring of Fieldwood Energy.

In addition to his MBA, he holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and history from Furman University, where he was admissions ambassador and president of the investment club. His hobbies include reading, cooking, skiing, and playing golf.
