A retired senior corporate real estate executive, Gene Berman served as group manager and executive vice president with Marcus & Millichap in Fort Lauderdale until 2016. He joined the firm in 1982 as a investment real estate agent in the firm’s Encino, California, office, and later served as vice president of investments, representing investors in the acquisition of commercial real estate assets. Gene Berman joined Marcus & Millichap’s management team in 1996.
In 1997, Mr. Berman opened the firm’s first Fort Lauderdale office, and led it to become the top Marcus & Millichap office nationwide in just 9 years. Nominated as regional manager of the year in 2001, he became managing director of the firm in 2005.
Gene Berman holds a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from the University of Southern California and a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law. Over the course of his career, he was active in professional organizations such as the Commercial Real Estate Development Association and the Urban Land Institute. When he is not working, he enjoys exercising and traveling to foreign countries.
