Farhang Niroomand, PhD, is a Victoria, TX academic leader who has served as a professor of economics and international business at the University of Houston-Victoria since 2017. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Farhang Niroomand sits on The International Trade Journal’s editorial advisory board and is an executive board member with Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international economics honor society.

Dr. Niroomand previously held responsibilities as dean of the business school at the University of Houston-Victoria in TX. His accomplishments included the hiring of highly qualified staff and faculty, and he undertook recruiting across a diverse candidate pool. Emphasizing an innovative curriculum, he spearheaded fundraising in support of student scholarships and faculty development.

From 1999 to 2007, Dr. Niroomand was the associate dean in the College of Business Administration at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. His position also involved chief operating officer responsibilities with the college, and he played a strong role in program and school development. A particular focus was on collaborating with the Business Advisory Council, which provided significant financial support in developing new educational strategies. In addition to his role for the development and implementation of distance education for undergraduate and graduate students, Dr. Niroomand developed and conducted Study Abroad Programs in Japan, Spain and Costa Rica.
