As a managing partner at the firm of Gentle, Turner, Sexton & Harbison, LLC, Edgar Gentle builds on 35 years of experience in practice. He began his career following receipt of his juris doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he received the Hugo Black Scholarship and graduated fourth in his class. Edgar Gentle accepted his first professional role as an associate in the Birmingham, Alabama, firm of North, Haskell, Slaughter, Young & Lewis.

Mr. Gentle then relocated to Georgia, where he built corporate law experience as a senior attorney with AT&T. He returned to Alabama and private practice in 1985 and two years later had secured his first partnership in the firm of Schoel, Ogle, Benton, Gentle & Centeno. He subsequently became partner and manager of the Birmingham office of Miller, Hamilton, Snider & Odom in 1991, then left to co-establish his current practice.

Over the course of his career, Edgar Gentle has gained extensive experience in mass tort litigation and related practices. He has played a key role in the development and administration of more than $2 billion in settlements and has served in a variety of case leadership roles, including special master, escrow agent, and claims administrator.
