An accomplished clinical psychiatrist with a doctor of medicine (MD) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Robert Kohn has a clinical focus on elderly patients. He also has a wealth of experience working with adults who have significant developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. To inform his professional endeavors, Dr. Robert Kohn holds active memberships in a number of psychiatric associations, including the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and the World Psychiatric Association’s sections on Transcultural Psychiatry and Social Psychiatry/Psychiatric Epidemiology. In 2018, he received an American Psychiatric Association Guttmacher Award for his contributions to the literature of forensic psychiatry.
Over the course of his career, Robert Kohn, MD, has authored more than 100 articles for peer-reviewed scholarly periodicals such as Comprehensive Psychiatry and the Journal of Affective Disorders. His current areas of local practice and international research include psychotherapy, psychopharmacological management, psychiatric epidemiology, cultural psychiatry, family therapy, and global mental health.
