About Me
Well experienced as a trauma surgeon and a healthcare administrator, Dr. Reginald Burton now serves as a phlebotomist for the American Red Cross. In 2002, Dr. Reginald Burton was the president of Nebraska Trauma Acute Care Surgery in Omaha, where he negotiated with insurance companies and performed abdominal operations. In addition to reducing insurance denials by 30 percent, he made three volunteer surgical visits to Germany to treat severely wounded soldiers.

Dr. Reginald Burton’s academic training includes an MD from the Loma Linda School of Medicine in California, a degree he prepared for with a BS in biology and chemistry from Union College in Lincoln. He followed this training with a surgical residency at Loma Lind and a pediatric critical care fellowship from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Reginald Burton also fulfilled a trauma and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland.

A member of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and the Nebraska Statewide Trauma Advisory Board, Dr. Reginald Burton has made several dozen scientific presentations. Topics range from traumatic brain injury and wound ballistics to controlling bleeding and hypothermia.
