About Me
One of the B-Metro Top Women in Medicine in 2017, Dr. Kristen Riley has approximately two decades of experience in the field of neurosurgery. Throughout that time, she has conducted minimally invasive surgical treatments for a variety of brain tumors, and also treated patients with epilepsy. Dr. Kristen Riley also serves as a professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

While serving as a surgeon and professor, she has collaborated on a wide range of neurosurgical publications. She also conducts research on epilepsy and brain tumors funded with grants from groups such as the NIH National Cancer Institute.

She maintains licensure through the state of Alabama, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomat with the American Board of Neurological Surgery. She completed a surgical epilepsy fellowship at the Great Ormond Street Hospital and the National Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, and a neurosurgical residency at UAB.
