Dr. Kamran Massoumi, a prominent ophthalmologist, founded the Oklahoma Eye Institute and Omni Surgical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Born in Tehran in 1967, his interest in medicine was shaped by his maternal grandfather, a pioneering ophthalmologist in Iran. He moved to the U.S. during the Iran-Iraq War, excelled at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned his MD at St. Louis University Medical School, completing his residency at Case Western University.
Dr. Massoumi chose Western Oklahoma to address the critical shortage of eye care, founding his facilities in 2002 and significantly enhancing local healthcare. He is also active in global health efforts, performing essential surgeries in Vietnam to restore vision.
