Based in Brownsville, Texas, Dr. John Wells guides Melchizedek Medical, PLLC, where he applies an extensive background in pain management and emergency room care. Dr. John Wells’ focus is on evaluative and legal consultations that inform the provisions of occupational, urgent and correctional medicine.
Dr. Wells has also led the City Health Authority in Brownsville for two decades and is the municipality’s fire/EMS medical director. His work in the community extends to the 1980s, when he helped develop the city’s first Para Medic Emergency Medical Services and funtioned as it's medical director. Presently, the health, police and fire departments are collaborating to eststablish a cilty wide Work place Wellness Program, including mental health. While the EMS department is promoting it's Community Paramedic Program, to work the hospitals, home health services, community services and physicians deliver a patient centered health care services in the cith of Brownsville.
Dr. Wells achieved distinction as the first physician to provide coordinated pain and rehabilitation as well as cardiovascular anesthesia services, in the cith of Brownsville. While through the Brownsville Paramedic EMS, In 2010 he was recognized by the city council of Brownsville for a lifetime focus on meeting the needs of the residents of Brownsville with a Lifetime Service award.
