A graduate of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Dr. Alex Lechin earned his medical degree in 1986. Following this, Dr. Alex Lechin pursued a fellowship in clinical pharmacology from the same institute, which he completed in 1988.
He subsequently pursued a post-graduate internship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, where he focused on internal medicine before completing his residency at the East Tennessee State University.
To round off his education, Dr. Lechin pursued a fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he specialized in Pulmonary, Crítica Care and Sleep Medicine. He subsequently returned to the college in 1997 as a clinical assistant professor, a position he still holds.
Dr. Alex Lechin is also a physician director at the Texas Institute of Chest and Sleep Disorders, which he joined in 1995. He also holds affiliations with multiple professional organizations, such as the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Federation for Clinical Research, where he is a fellow and member, respectively.
